Lead Awareness

Lead Awareness

Upon completion of this learning event, employees will demonstrate knowledge of lead exposure hazards and controls used to minimize or eliminate those hazards. Employees will learn about the effects of lead exposure, their rights as workers in a facility with lead present, and the use of personal protective equipment and other methods to reduce the risk of hazardous exposure. This course is intended to assist the employer in meeting the requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1025. In addition to this course the employer may also need to provide the Respiratory Protection and Personal Protective Equipment courses.

Introduction and objectives
Identify Potential Adverse Affects of Lead Exposure
Recognize that employers must adhere to exposure limits
Identify how lead can enter the body
Recognize controls used to protect against lead exposure
Select appropriate PPE to protect against lead exposure
