Basic Chemical Safety Awareness

Upon attending this learning event, the participants will demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices to be used while working with and around different types of chemicals. Participants will learn

1. how to identify hazards associated with different chemicals,
2. how to identify those hazards based on container labeling,
3. how to properly use personal protective equipment, and
4. safe storage and cleanup procedures.

This training program will aid the employer in meeting several standards found under OSHA 29. 

The employer might also be interested in the Hazard Communication like MSDS, Display board, Portable Fire Extinguisher training, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Safety training, and Personal Protective Equipment training after attending this training on Chemical Safety Program

Content of the course

1. Introduction and objectives
2. Identify the various hazardous of chemicals in the workplace
3. Identify chemical hazards with pictorial and written labels & given information
4. Identify PPE based on signs and written sources & select the appropriate PPE
5. Relate the need for safe storage of chemicals
6. Recognize the need for spill response
7. Various precaution for Emergency Response & safe evacuation
